Fathead: Reddit user will be first to receive Tebow-in-Patriots-gear Fathead
It didn’t take much for Fathead to get a big head over “foreshadowing” Tim Tebow’s decision to sign with the New England Patriots. No, really. Last week a Reddit post explained how a customer ordered a Tom Brady Fathead and, instead, received one of Tebow. Fast forward about six days and the news breaks that the polarizing quarterback is going to be joining the glamorous Brady in New England. Talk about a chance for a marketing coup. "It started last Tuesday with the Reddit post and we watched it and were wondering if the press was going to pick it up,” Fathead VP of public relations Brian Stevenson told FOXSports.com. “They did and went with it on Wednesday. And it just exploded. We were like, ‘What do we do to counter that?’ “We sent an email to the Reddit fan: You want Brady? We’re gonna give you Brady. So we sent him all 13 Tom Brady Fatheads.” The exec was happy to take credit for the trend and looked forward to building on it. “All of those rabid Tebow fans and rabid New England fans, now they all have to get along,” Stevenson said. “And we feel like we started that. We feel like we bridged the gap and now we can get past it and we can hopefully sell the rest of the Tebow in his Jets uniform. “Now, we’ll just wait for the great, new Tebow in New England Fathead. And we’ll send it to the masses. And the first one that we send out will be to the Reddit user who started it all.” Questions? Comments?
