Fantasy players to watch Monday
Here are three players in action in the Rangers game tonight who could help you win your daily fantasy leagues.
Texas RHP Colby Lewis – The career numbers for Lewis against the Royals are ugly. He's 1-4 with a 6.35 ERA in his seven appearances vs. KC, including 0-2 last year with a 5.54 ERA. But in the theory of riding a hot hand, or this case a right arm, Lewis is worth a gamble. In his last two starts Lewis has logged 14 innings and allowed eight hits, walked just three and struck out 14. He's only allowed one earned run and his ERA has dropped from 3.75 to 2.61 in that span.
Texas RF Shin-Soo Choo – It seems like an odd matchup starting the left-handed hitting Choo against a tough lefty in Kansas City's Danny Duffy. But while Choo has struggled all season, he's at least been consistent in May as he comes into the game riding a 10-game hitting streak. He's also batting .293 in May, which gives you reason to think his success could continue against Duffy.
Kansas City 1B Eric Hosmer – Hosmer comes into Monday night's game having hits in nine of the last 10 games. He's not just reaching base either, he's doing damage in the run. Three of the hits have been homers and he has 12 RBI I the last 10 games. Hosmer has also fared well against Colby Lewis in his career, going 4 for 10 with two doubles and four RBI.
Saturday's results: 2 for 3, 1 run scored, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 BB
Season results: Hitting - 13 for 43, 8 runs scored, 1 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 5 BB, 8 RBI, 1 SB; Pitching - 3 1/3 IP, 4 hits, 5 ER, four walks, eight strikeouts.
