Fantasy Football Morning Update: Decision day for Rodgers, Pack

Published Dec. 20, 2013 2:50 p.m. ET

Who's ready to win a fantasy title this weekend?

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy thinks Aaron Rodgers looks like he's ready to play, but Matt Flynn took most of the snaps during Thursday's practice, and media following the team seem to think Flynn will start on Sunday. We should know the verdict today, and if Rodgers starts, he'll be QB2 on my board. Flynn will be in the QB15 range if Rodgers can't go.

Both Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart are expected to return this Sunday for the Vikings.

FOX Sports NFL Insider Jay Glazer reports that Broncos WR Wes Welker (concussion) will not play in Week 16. Andre Caldwell could be relevant again.

Giants WR Victor Cruz had knee surgery on Thursday, and is done for the season. It would be a reach to pick up Jerrel Jernigan, who caught seven passes for 67 yards in Cruz's place last week.

Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts had sports hernia surgery this week, and will miss the rest of the season. Maurice Jones-Drew (hamstring) hasn't practiced this week, and we should know more today about his status.

Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (concussion) says he feels ready to play, but he still needs to be cleared by an independent neurologist. Keep an eye on Fitzgerald's status today and tomorrow.

Good luck this weekend!
