Fantasy Baseball Buzz: Yu returns Sunday

Remember that stiff neck you were so worried about? It's gone, and Yu Darvish will make his first start of 2014 at Tampa on Sunday. The wait wasn't so bad, right?

On to the rest of the news:

Emilio Bonifacio has nine hits and three stolen bases in two games for the Cubs. If Bonifacio can hit enough to stay in the lineup, he'll easily be among the league leaders in steals.

Wednesday's streaming starter picks worked out well, as neither Scott Kazmir nor Charlie Morton gave up a run. Today's selection is Jose Quintana (owned in 14.4 percent of FOXSports.com leagues) versus the Twins, while Friday's option is Oakland's Dan Straily (21.6 percent owned) against the Mariners.

Phillies SP Cole Hamels (biceps) will start his rehab assignment on Sunday, and if all goes well he'll be ready to help your fantasy squad before the end of April.

The Reds hope to activate RP Jonathan Broxton (elbow) early next week, and manager Bryan Price says that Broxton will close when he returns. The Reds will use a committee until then, so you can prepare to unload all that J.J. Hoover stock you bought.

Mets 2B Daniel Murphy - who has apparently created quite the uproar on WFAN Radio - is expected to return to the lineup today after missing some time for paternity leave.

Not a bad first outing for White Sox SP Felipe Paulino, who is still unowned in my AL-only league.

Wondering when Astros OF prospect George Springer will get called up? You'll probably be waiting until at least late May.

Rockies closer LaTroy Hawkins threw 36 pitches on the way to his save last night, while Oakland's Jim Johnson threw 29 while blowing his chance. Look for Rex Brothers and (probably) Sean Doolittle, respectively, to get the save opportunities for those teams today.

Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) makes his first rehab start tonight, and could be in line for a late April return.

Mets SP Jon Niese (elbow, shoulder) will make his 2014 debut on Sunday.

See you back here tomorrow morning.
