Fan's wake planned around Kansas game
Kansas basketball is not a matter of life and death, but if death is inevitable, let's not let it interfere with the NCAA Tournament.
This more or less describes the sentiments of the family of Don Shoulberg, a University of Kansas graduate who died Tuesday in Lawrence, Kan. His obituary in the Lawrence Journal-World was pretty standard stuff, except for the visitation arrangements.
"A Prayer Service will be at 5 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at the mortuary followed by a visitation until tipoff time for the K.U. basketball game (approx. 6:30 p.m.)," it read.
No. 1 seed Kansas plays No. 4 seed Michigan tonight in the Sweet 16, in Arlington, Texas.
Shoulberg earned a Ph.D in speech communication and human relations from KU in 1981 and most recently held a private counseling practice in Lawrence, home of the University of Kansas.
