VINTON, La. (AP) Exaggerator edged Sunny Ridge by a neck Saturday in the $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot at the Delta Downs.
Ridden by Hall of Famer Kent Desormeaux for trainer and brother Keith Desormeaux, the 2-year-old colt ran 1 1/16 miles in 1:46:48 on the muddy track for his third victory in six starts.
Exaggerator paid $3.80, $2.60 and $2.20 as the 4-5 favorite. Sunny Ridge returned $4 and $3.20, and Harlan Punch paid $5 to show.
Exaggerator was coming off a fourth-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile.
