Evangeline Downs Turf Sprint, other stakes get rained out

Rain washed out the $300,000 Evangeline Downs Turf Sprint on Saturday.

The track said no immediate decision has been made on rescheduling the Turf Sprint and the four other stakes races that were rained out.

''The severe conditions forced us to halt the program for the safety of all concerned,'' said Steve Kuypers, vice president of Boyd Gaming.
