Evan Longoria, Playmate girlfriend expecting

Despite missing a majority of the 2012 season with a hamstring injury, 2012 is ending on a high note for Tampa Bay Rays third-baseman Evan Longoria.

On Monday, Longoria's girlfriend, Playboy model Jaime Edmondson, revealed on Twitter and Facebook that the couple will be first-time parents in 2013, with an expected delivery date at some point during spring training.

Edmondson is a former Miami Dolphins cheerleader and was Playboy's Miss January 2010.

The news comes on the heels of a $100 million contract extension Longoria, a three-time All-Star, signed with the Rays in November.

Longoria, 27, missed 74 games in 2012 due to a partially torn left hamstring, but is expected to be back in good health for spring training.
