Eriksson carrying offensive load for Stars

If the early returns are any indication, this is shaping up to be a pretty huge year for Stars left winger Loui Eriksson. Through 14 games, the Swedish scorer has nine goals, which puts him on a pace to eclipse that 50-goal plateau. This comes after he scored 29 and 36 respectively in each of the last two years.

After scoring two goals and assisting on two more in a 6-3 win over Phoenix last Friday at the American Airlines Center, he earned some love from one of the analysts on the NHL Network. That host was none other than ex-NHL standout defenseman Larry Murphy, who said that Eriksson had a chance to score between 40-45 goals this year.

That is not only good news for Stars fans who are clamoring to see playoff hockey this year after the arena has been dark come postseason for the last few years, but it
