MUMBAI, India (AP) England slumped to 49-3 in 13.2 overs at tea on day four of the fourth test against India on Sunday.
The home side was earlier bowled out for 631 runs in 182.3 overs in their first innings, taking a lead of 231 runs.
At the break, Joe Root was unbeaten on 30 runs, while the visitors still trail by 182 runs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1-11) trapped Keaton Jennings lbw for a golden duck. Then, Alastair Cook (18) fell lbw to Ravindra Jadeja (2-13) via DRS review.
Moeen Ali departed a short time later for a three-ball duck, caught at leg slip off Jadeja, as the England top order crumbled.
Jayant Yadav (104) completed his maiden test hundred off 194 deliveries post lunch, facing 204 balls with 15 fours.
He was dismissed in the 177th over, stumped off Adil Rashid (4-192), bringing an end to a mammoth 241-run eighth wicket stand with Virat Kohli.
Earlier, Kohli had scored his third double hundred of 2016, previously scoring double centuries in Antigua (West Indies) and Indore (against New Zealand). In doing so, he joined Sir Don Bradman (1930), Ricky Ponting (2003), Michael Clarke (2012) and Brendon McCullum (2014) to achieve the feat in a calendar year.
Kohli finished with 235 runs, facing 340 balls inclusive of 25 fours and a six, thus notching up the highest individual score by an Indian captain in test cricket. He went past MS Dhoni's 224 runs scored against Australia in Chennai (2013).
He was out caught at deep cover off Chris Woakes (1-79) and walked off to a standing ovation.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (9) was last man out.
