There are a couple of times this season when the Magic play two or three games in a row against some of the strongest teams in the NBA. Christmas week in December, Dallas, San Antonio and Boston come to Amway Center for a rousing three game homestand. In January there are back to back games at New Orleans and at Oklahoma City that promise to be a stern test. And this week the Magic face San Antonio on Monday and Miami on Wednesday in what looks like a good early season benchmark for the team.

Monday in San Antonio, the Magic play a Spurs team that is off to its best start in franchise history. At 11-1, San Antonio has the best record in the NBA.

Wednesday, back home in the Amway Center, Orlando faces its big intra-state rival Miami for the second time this season. The Heat whacked the Magic back in late October down in south Florida. Will things be different this time around?
