Dustin Williams leads Oklahoma St to 5-1 win vs Oklahoma
TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Dustin Williams had three hits, two RBIs and scored twice to power Oklahoma State to a 5-1 victory Saturday over Oklahoma in the Big 12 Tournament semifinals.
Oklahoma State will face Texas (29-25) in the final on Sunday.
Williams was involved in four of the Cowboys' five runs. He hit a leadoff double in the second inning and scored on a wild pitch by Oklahoma starting pitcher Corey Copping (4-1).
The Cowboys' cleanup hitter had an RBI double in the sixth to give Oklahoma State (37-17) a 3-0 lead. He pushed in another run with a triple in a two-run sixth for the second-seeded Cowboys.
Williams' run-scoring hits in the sixth and eighth drove home Donnie Walton, who had a pair of singles. Bryan Case and Kevin Bradley also knocked in runs for Oklahoma State.
Jon Perrin (6-4) went the first six innings on the mound for the Cowboys. He scattered seven hits, allowed one run and struck out four.
After third-seeded Oklahoma (34-27) tallied its only run on three consecutive hits in the sixth to rally within 3-1, Perrin pitched out of the jam by getting a strikeout and a groundout.
