Ducks activate Getzlaf

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced Wenesday that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has assigned left wing Aaron Voros to the Syracuse Crunch, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). The move was made necessary after the Ducks activate C Ryan Getzlaf off injured reserve. He is eligible to play in Wednesday's game @ Vancouver after missing the last 14 games with multiple nasal sinus fractures, suffered Dec. 28 @ Phoenix.

Voros, 29 (7/2/81), has appeared in 12 contests for Anaheim in 2010-11, going scoreless with 43 penalty minutes (PIM). He missed 21 games (Dec. 10-Jan. 25) with a fractured orbital bone suffered on Dec. 8 at Vancouver. He made his Ducks debut on Oct. 9 at Nashville, going scoreless in 4:35 time-on-ice (TOI). The 6-4, 210-pound winger played in 41 games with the New York Rangers in 2009-10, scoring 3-4=7 points with 89 PIM. He had a career-high 8-8=16 points with 122 PIM in 54 games with the Rangers in 2008-09.

Selected by the New Jersey Devils in the eighth round (229th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Voros was traded to Minnesota for a seventh-round selection in the 2008 NHL draft on Feb. 28, 2007. He signed with the Rangers as a free agent on July 1, 2008 and was acquired by Anaheim with Ryan Hillier in exchange for Steve Eminger on July 9, 2010. A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Voros has appeared in 162 career NHL games with Minnesota, NY Rangers and Anaheim, scoring 18-19=37 points with 395 PIM. In addition, he has played in 223 career AHL contests, earning 44-47=91 points with 629 PIM.
