Dorial Green-Beckham gaining admirers
Mega-recruit Dorial Green-Beckham is making impressions on teammates already.
Although Scout.com’s No. 1 overall recruit in the 2012 class is still working out with the freshmen at the moment, it has been hard not to notice him, according to his teammates at SEC Media Days. For one, he’s quite large.
“I’ve watched him, and he’s a freak of an athlete,” Missouri corner E.J. Gaines said. “He’s definitely gonna be big player for us. He’s strong, he’s big, he’s fast, he knows what he’s doing.”
Green-Beckham was offered by nearly every major program in the country last season, but he chose to stay home with coach Gary Pinkel and the Tigers. He has been likened to Randy Moss by some analysts: the body, the speed, the hands.
Missouri wide receiver T.J. Moe, who became one of the media darlings on Day One inside the Wynfrey Hotel with quotes like “they say the girls are prettier here, air’s fresher and toilet paper is thicker,” has taken notice from afar.
“If LeBron James lost about 40 pounds, that’s what he’d look like,” Moe said.
Consider this a warning, SEC corners.
