Dope dealers
Authors note: I am not being paid for the following review (or am I?).
Derek Jeter and his peeps have launched The Players' Tribune. It's going to be a superlative endeavor. Directly from the site:
"Introducing The Players' Tribune, a new media platform that will present the unfiltered voices of professional athletes, bringing fans closer to the games they love than ever before. Founded by Derek Jeter, The Players' Tribune aims to provide unique insight into the daily sports conversation and to publish first-person stories directly from athletes."
Derek Jeter is.....awww, damn. Let's be forthright. We have no idea who Derek Jeter is. Perhaps the best way to describe him is covert. He has (strategically) provided us with almost zero dope to determine who he really is. Here's what we do know. Derek Jeter is not dumb. He's also wealthy. Oh, and he has surrounded himself with savvy marketing folks and a terribly well equipped agent, Casey Close.
Knowing all this allows us to deduce that The Players' Tribune will be smart, intelligently marketed, well researched and powerfully funded. We already know the site is aesthetically stunning:

That content thing? Right. We know that superstar athletes follow and model Derek Jeter. They emulate him publicly at every turn. Recruiting will not be problematic. The stars will show up. The content reservoir will be plenty vast; extrapolating captivating insight won't take a scientist. Sprinkle in well compensated editors and boo-ya, line drive home run, opposite field, short porch.
The day Adrian Peterson pens his essay on the recent events in his life, I'll run a 40 to the computer clamoring for answers.
