The Miami Dolphins are scheduled to interview Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer on Monday.
Zimmer is in competition with known candidates Jeff Fisher, formerly of the Titans, as well as Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin, Bears special teams coach Dave Toub and interim coach Todd Bowles, who went 2-1 with the Dolphins after replacing Tony Sparano.
Fisher is considered the preferred choice of owner Stephen Ross. He publicly stated he covets a coach with experience in the NFL, but Fisher is the only candidate with head coaching experience.
Zimmer has been Bengals' defensive coordinator since 2007 and was named the NFL's top assistant in 2009. He previously held the same job with the Cowboys.
