Wide receivers Chad Bumphis, Marvin McNutt and Brian Tyms were among the players waived by the Miami Dolphins on Saturday, when NFL teams had to cut their rosters to 53 players.

The Dolphins' moves were Tweeted more than three hours after Saturday's 6 p.m. deadline, making Miami the last NFL team to make pubic its transactions.

The Dolphins also waived guard Chris Barker, center Sam Brenner, wide receiver Keenan Davis, defensive tackle A.J. Francis, running back Jonas Gray, safety Keelan Johnson, safety Jordan Kovacs, tackle Andrew McDonald, tight end Kyle Miller, defensive end Tristin Okpalaugo, cornerback Julian Posey, cornerback De'Andre Presley, defensive tackle Kheeston Randall, defensive tackle Tracey Robertson, linebacker Lee Robinson and linebacker Austin Spitler.

Tackle Jeff Adams and quarterback Aaron Corp were waived as injured players. Miami terminated the contract of linebacker Antwan Applewhite.

The moves meant Miami apparently will go with three quarterbacks (starter Ryan Tannehill and backups Matt Moore and Pat Devlin) and a fullback (Evan Rodriguez). There had been talk of only keeping two quarterbacks and no fullbacks.

The 53-player roster included four receivers (Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline, Brandon Gibson and Rishard Matthews) and three tight ends (Charles Clay, Michael Egnew, Dion Sims). All nine 2013 draft picks were among those kept.

With all teams releasing players Saturday, there's a chance Miami will make more moves by addition and subtraction.

Gray was waived after missing his entire rookie season in 2012 while battling back from a knee injury suffered while at Notre Dame.

The Miami Herald reported Miller remained a possibility for Miami's practice squad. All the players released were eligible for the practice squad except for Spitler, Randall and Applewhite.

Both Spitler and Randall were Dolphins draft picks. Spitler, a seventh-round pick in 2010, played in 43 games during his three seasons in Miami. Randall, a seventh-rounder last year, appeared in 12 games as a rookie.

The Dolphins will open the regular season at Cleveland next Sunday.
