Dodson's unique signing day announcement
Wednesday afternoon, Buckeye Nation set its sights on Cleveland Heights as Kyle Dodson was announcing where he would play college football.
The same scene would play out at thousands of high schools across the country, with college football fans eagerly awaiting to see if a top recruit would choose their favorite school. But in this case, there were several stories playing out on the sidelines.
Dodson (6'6", 310 pounds) is a 4-star offensive tackle, ranked 24th nationally at his position. Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer had already flipped a handful of recruits away from rival schools, and Dodson would be a power play move towards swinging ruling power of the Big Ten away from a two-time defending champion.
After decommitting from Wisconsin earlier in the recruiting year, the popular rumors were that Dodson was down to choosing between playing at USC and Ohio State.
As the moment arrived to make his selection, Dodson left the stage to be surrounded by his teammates. The Tigers football team then began a cheer led by Dodson.
