Dion Jordan: Chip Kelly monitored what I ate at Oregon
By Ross Jones and Sid Saraf, FOXSports.com LOS ANGELES Chip Kelly has made his presence felt in Philly, from the offense on the field to the meals in the cafeteria. This week an ESPN report surfaced that Kelly has stripped the team of Taco Tuesdays and Fast Food Fridays and replaced the junk food with healthier options. Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan, who played for Kelly at Oregon, says his former coach was always mindful of the food his players consume. “Yeah he did [keep an eye on what players eat],” Kelly told FOXSports.com at a rookie premier event in Los Angeles. “Coach Kelly is a very smart guy and he understands what it takes to get his team going. Your nutrition is a very important aspect of staying healthy. He understands that. He's just trying to do an overall change for everybody.” Jordan was drafted by the Dolphins third overall in April’s draft and has been looking forward to making an impact in Miami. “I can bring more athleticism,” Jordan said. “I’m somebody who can apply pressure to the quarterback and help out the secondary and the linebackers. I’m just looking forward to doing whatever I need to go out there and help the team.”
