University of Dayton sophomore center Devon Scott has been removed from team activities after being charged with domestic violence and assault.
A university statement said Scott was presented misdemeanor charges by the university's public safety department, indicating Scott was involved in an on-campus incident.
"Due to federal privacy laws, the university cannot release any additional information," the statement said. "Devon has been removed from team activities, pending resolution of these misdemeanor charges. He remain enrolled in school and will focus on his academics and this situation as his priorities."
Court records were used to discover the charges. The university said Scott is scheduled for arraignment next Monday, April, 14 at 10:00 a.m.
The 6'9 Scott is a graduate of Northland High School in Columbus. He played a backup role this season for the Flyers and in their run to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament, scoring 6 points while adding 2 rebounds and a block in a Sweet 16 win over Stanford.
He averaged 3.4 points and 2.7 rebounds over 12.6 minutes per game for the season.
