Davis trade finalized; Clippers waive Butler
Feb. 28, 2011
The Los Angeles Clippers waived guard/forward Rasual Butler to make room on their roster for forward Jamario Moon and guard Mo Williams. With Baron Davis passing his physical in Cleveland, last week's trade of Davis for Williams and Moon was finalized.
In 41 games played this season, including two starts, Butler averaged 5.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 18.1 minutes per game. Butler started 64 games for the Clippers in 2009-10, averaging 11.9 points.
According to the LA Times, Butler could end up in Chicago as his name came up in trade talks before the deadline last week.
He has also played for the Miami Heat and the New Orleans Hornets since being drafted by the Heat in the second round in 2002 out of La Salle.
For his career, the 6-7, 215-pound forward has played in 598 games - including 249 starts - while averaging 8.6 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.
