ARLINGTON, Texas – Texas right-hander Yu Darvish, who was scratched from his Tuesday start because of a stiff neck, is slated to start Sunday's series finale against the Los Angeles Angels.

Darvish felt better Wednesday and was played catch in the outfield.

Texas manager Ron Washington said while Sunday is the next scheduled start for Darvish that could still change if Darvish feels better sooner.

"Presently he's still on schedule for Sunday," Washington said.

Washington said he hasn't thought about how Darvish's next start would impact a postseason rotation because the Rangers still have work to do to get to the postseason. But if the club did start him before Sunday, it could give other members of the rotation an extra day of rest.

"He's got to be 100 percent," Washington said. "If he's 100 percent before Sunday, you may see him. If not, you certainly will see him Sunday."
