MILWAUKEE – Fred Dabney has been named pitching coach at Class AAA Nashville, the Milwaukee Brewers announced Monday.

Dabney joined the organization in 2004 as the pitching coach at Class AA Huntsville and spent the last seven seasons serving in the same capacity with Class A Brevard County. In 2010, he was named interim bullpen coach with the Brewers while Stan Kyles underwent prostate surgery.

At Nashville, Dabney replaces Chris Bosio, who left to join Dale Sveum's staff with the Chicago Cubs.

Dabney's replacement at Brevard County will be Mark Dewey, who spent the last two seasons working with the independent league Washington Wild Things. Dewey is a six-year major league veteran who compiled a 12-7 record and 3.65 ERA in 205 games with San Francisco, the New York Mets and Pittsburgh.
