D-backs announce eighth annual Evening on the Diamond
The Arizona Diamondbacks announced Monday that the eighth annual Evening on the Diamond charity fundraiser will be held Thursday at Chase Field.
The event, held on the field, benefits the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and includes Diamondbacks players, coaches and executives as well as more than 700 guests. Last year, it raised over $1.8 million.
This year's fundraiser, dubbed Denim on the Diamond, will feature guests in Western attire and country recording artist Jake Owings performing live. Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill and his wife, Elizabeth, will serve as honorary chairs.
The event is preceded by a red carpet reception and silent auction beginning at 5:30 p.m. Dinner and the foundation's awards presentation begin at 7 p.m., with a live auction to follow at 7:45 p.m. Owens' live performance begins at 8:45 p.m.
