Currency Swap edged long-shot Trinniberg by three-quarters of a length Monday in the $250,000 Hopeful Stakes for 2-year-olds at Saratoga Race Course.

Rajiv Maragh rode the Terri Pompay-trained Currency Swap, who ran 7 furlongs in 1:26.18 over a sloppy racetrack and earned $150,000 for owners Klaravich Stable and William H. Lawrence.

Coupled in the wagering with Clip the Coupons because of common ownership, Currency Swap paid $5.80, $3.40 and $2.60. Trinniberg returned $32 and $11.40, and Big Blue Nation paid $5.20 to show.

The 40-day race meeting at Saratoga concluded Monday. Racing in New York returns to Belmont Park on Saturday.
