-- Luke Fabrizius came off the bench to score 13 points as ninth-seeded Dayton coasted to a 78-50 win over No. 8 Massachusetts on Tuesday night in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament.

The Flyers (20-12), who will play top-seeded Xavier in the quarterfinals on Friday, accomplished their fourth consecutive season with 20 or more victories.

Massachusetts (15-15) hosted the game between teams that were 7-9 in league play by virtue of its regular-season win over Dayton. But the Minutemen made just 20.7 percent (6 of 29) of their shots in a first half that ended with the Flyers leading 37-16.

Dayton made 54.2 percent (13 of 24) of its first-half shots, including 7 of 10 from 3-point range.

Josh Parker scored 11 points, and Chris Wright and Juwan Staten had 10 each for the Flyers.

Freddie Riley scored 10 points and Anthony Gurley 10 for the Minutemen.
