ST. LOUIS - Send it in, Coach McDermott!

Creighton men’s
basketball coach Greg McDermott won’t be bringing down any backboards
with his thunderous dunks, but the Bluejays’ sideline leader gave proof
that he can still get up just enough to stuff it down.

A video was sent out from the Creighton men's basketball
official Twitter account
on Thursday displaying the
48-year-old McDermott’s high-flying ability during a Bluejays practice
at Harris Stowe State University in St. Louis.

It shouldn’t come as that big of a
surprise though, as McDermott stands 6-foot-8 and even spent a year
playing professionally in Switzerland after finishing up his collegiate
career at Northern Iowa. While at UNI, McDermott recorded 1,033 career
points, which ranks in the Panters’ top-25 scoring chart. Battling down
low as the UNI center, McDermott was named second-team all-conference as
a junior and was a team co-captain as a
senior.

McDermott's son, Doug, leads the Missouri
Valley Conference and ranks second nationally in scoring with 23.4
points per game and was recently named the MVC Player of the Year for
the second consecutive season.
