The Cowboys couldn't beat the Giants in two late-season meetings last season. In 2012, they get the first crack at the reigning Super Bowl Champions.
The NFL announced Tuesday that Cowboys at Giants will be first game of the 2012 season. The annual NFL Kickoff game will be Wednesday, Sept. 5, with the game starting at 7:30 p.m. CT.
The game will also be televised on NBC, just like last year's two games between the Cowboys and Giants.
It's been tradition since 2004 for the defending Super Bowl Champion to host the NFL Kickoff game. This will be the first time for the Cowboys to play in the game.
The Cowboys lost to the Giants twice in the last four weeks of the 2011 season: 37-34 on Dec. 11 and 31-14 on Jan. 1.
