The PGA picked one of its own.
A lot can and will be said about Davis Love III, the man just tapped to lead the U.S. Ryder Cup squad in 2012 at Medinah Country Club in Chicago, but nobody will ever accuse him of going rogue. Love is a company man, through and through. A veteran of six Ryder Cups and a former PGA Champion, he is a button-down traditionalist who will wear the PGA emblem and tow the corporate line without hesitation. For the PGA of America, that is at least as important as his ability to assemble and motivate 12 of his fellow tour players for three days in September of 2012.
The organization wants to wash itself clean of the silly controversies that swirled around the last iteration of the bi-annual matches. From Captain Cory Pavin
