Comment of the Day goes to Marcel Woodard
In Zac Jackson's piece about Northern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch, perception is reality. Zac wrote about how the crowded ballot combined with the perception of MAC players and teams will hurt Lynch's chances in this year's Heisman Trophy race.
While Lynch most certainly won't win the Heisman, he could become the first MAC player since 1999 (Chad Pennington) to get to the stage in New York. Which is why we've chosen this contribution from reader Marcel Woodard as our Comment of the Day:
"He needs signature wins, and he doesn't have any.
Having a nationally
ranked team and being mentioned among the elite is still quite an
accomplishment. Good for him and Nothern
Illinois."
Marcel's comment perfectly sums up the point made in Zac's column. Winning the Heisman is the ultimate college football accomplishment -- and the fact that a player from the MAC conference is even being mentioned in the conversation is pretty impressive. Here's hoping NIU can crash the BCS party again this year.
