Comeback Chief: RB Charles eyes Week 4 return

Comeback Chief: RB Charles eyes Week 4 return

Interesting Monday night game, as the Jets almost came back to tie the Bears. My biggest takeaway from the game is the fantasy owners shouldn't worry that Bears RB Matt Forte has just 136 rushing yards through three weeks. The opponents (Bills, 49ers, Jets) have been tough, and daylight will begin to open for Forte this week against the Packers.

In other news ...

Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (ankle) will "most likely" practice this week, according to head coach Andy Reid. Charles was a gametime decision in Week 3, and his chances to suit up against the Patriots on Monday look pretty good.

The bye season begins in Week 4, with the Cardinals, Bengals, Browns, Broncos, Seahawks and Rams all off. You prepared for this, right?

Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) isn't sure if he'll play in Week 4. We'll know more when the team hits the practice field on Wednesday.

Tom Brady was the 26th-ranked fantasy QB in Week 1, 28th in Week 2 and 22nd in Week 3. Yes, you should be worried.

The Jaguars will start rookie QB Blake Bortles this week at San Diego, and the Vikings will go with Teddy Bridgewater at home vs. the Falcons. These guys might be impressive and talented, but they'll also be prone to turnovers. Stream your defenses accordingly - the Chargers are available in 4.2 percent of FOXSports.com leagues.

The Ravens have a "good chance" of getting RB Bernard Pierce (thigh) back this week, according to head coach John Harbaugh. I still feel like I'd want to hold (or pick up) Lorenzo Taliaferro (owned in 0.4 percent of FOXSports.com leagues) if I could. Pierce isn't all that great.

In other Ravens' news, TE Dennis Pitta (hip) is done for the season. If you own Pitta, real-life backup Owen Daniels is one of many options widely available for you. My target list would start with Kansas City's Travis Kelce, who's owned in just 13.6 percent of FOXSports.com leagues, and caught his first touchdown on Sunday.

In other tight end news, Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph is expected to miss at least six weeks due to an abdominal injury that will require surgery.

The Panthers figure to be without RBs Jonathan Stewart (knee) and Mike Tolbert (knee) against the Ravens this week, but DeAngelo Williams (hamstring) is expected to practice on Wednesday. Chances are approximately 99.999999 percent that Ravens WR Steve Smith will have something to say about facing his former team.

Thursday's game is Giants-Redskins. Who scheduled a Giants game at the same time Derek Jeter plays his final game at Yankee Stadium?

Bucs QB Josh McCown (thumb) isn't expected to play against the Steelers, but RB Doug Martin (knee) appears on target to return. With the Steelers' defense decimated by injuries, Martin might have some room to run.

Chargers RB Danny Woodhead is done for the season due to a broken leg. With Ryan Mathews still out, Donald Brown might get 36 touches again.

Titans QB Jake Locker had an MRI Monday on his injured right wrist, and his status for Week 4 is unclear. Charlie Whitehurst will play if Locker can't.

Alex Henery has replaced David Freese as the Lions' kicker.

Need a free-agent WR for Week 4? Take a look at Jaguars rookie Allen Robinson (0.5 percent owned), who caught seven passes for 79 yards against the Colts on Sunday. Why shouldn't he become Blake Bortles' favorite target?

My pal Joel Beall will be in the FOXSports.com fantasy chat room today at 3 p.m. ET. Stop by if you can.

See you back here Friday morning.
