Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Blake Comeau was called for boarding Brendan Smith of the Detroit Red Wings during the Jackets' 4-1 win Tuesday night in Columbus, and Comeau could face additional punishment as a result of the play.
Comeau, 28, is in his second season with the Blue Jackets and has three goals and nine assists through 46 games.
Columbus' victory over the Red Wings left them tied with Philadelphia for third in the Eastern Conference Metropolitan Division.
