SportsTime Ohio will air Cleveland's Gateway, premiering Tuesday, April 29th at 9:00pm followed by Indians Live pregame show. This 30-minute special celebrates the 20 year anniversary of the Gateway District and its great impact on the city of Cleveland.
The Gateway District, home to Progressive Field and Quicken Loans Arena, has been in business for 20 years. However, the genesis of Gateway can be traced back into the 1980's when Cleveland was facing the possibility of the Cleveland Indians leaving town. State, county and city leaders rallied together to create a plan that would forever change Clevelandâs professional sports franchises and the downtown neighborhood that surrounds the ballpark and arena.
Hear from former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Tim Hagan, former Gateway Executive Director Tom Chema, and others who spearheaded the Gateway initiative.
