The Cleveland Indians return home to take on Kansas City in a three-game series. Here are the latest news and notes on the Tribe;

• SS Asdrubal Cabrera is expected to be activated from the bereavement list on Tuesday. Cabrera has missed the Indians' last six games after returning to his home in Venezuela following the death of his grandfather. The Indians were 4-2 without Cabrera.

SS Asdrubal Cabrera was activated from the bereavement list. Cabrera is hitting .282 (11-for-39) with three doubles, two home runs, three RBI and eight runs in eight games.

Asdrubal returned to his native Venezuela after a death following the death of his grandfather, missing six games.

• 1B Casey Kotchman, who was been outstanding defensively, was given a day off Sunday as he continues to battle an early-season slump. Kotchman is hitless in his last 16 at bats. He is hitting .087 vs. left-handed pitchers and only .157 overall. Last year with Tampa bay, Kotchman hit .306.

• RHP Chris Perez is 6-for-6 in save situations since opening day. He was the best reliever on the Indians' 7-2 trip that ended Sunday. In the last six games on the trip, Indians' relievers had a 0.92 ERA.

• LHP Nick Hagadone had a 2.70 ERA in three appearances after being recalled from Class AAA Columbus when SS Asdrubal Cabrera was placed on the bereavement list following a death in his family.

Cabrera is expected to be activated Tuesday, and the Indians, who are carrying 13 pitchers, will likely make a roster move involving a pitcher.

LHP Nick Hagadone was optioned to Class AAA Columbus as the Indians reduced their pitching staff to 12 men. Hagadone recorded an ERA of 2.70 in three appearances with Cleveland after being recalled on April 17.
