Chen says goodbye on Twitter; Royals fans wish him well in kind
Bruce Chen was among the most popular Royals during the parts of six seasons he spent in Kansas City (2009-14), so when the 37-year-old left-hander announced his retirement Monday, it was no surprise the Royals' Twittersphere was bubbling with fond farewells.
Which was all the more appropriate considering Chen himself used Twitter to announce he was saying goodbye to a big-league career that began in 1998.
Many Royals fans felt similarly blessed.
Bruce Chen was one the few bright spots during some dark years for the #Royals. He will be missed. #ComeOnChen #ThankYouBruce

The #Royals should do a Chen joke of the day prior to first pitch.

So how long until Bruce Chen is offered a coaching or front office position in the #Royals organization?

@ChenMusic gonna miss screaming Chen at the TV. Seriously one of my all-time favorite royals. Good luck in your endeavors, bud.
