Chargers agree to 1-year deal with WR Parrish
The San Diego Chargers have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with wide receiver and kick returner Roscoe Parrish.
The 5-9, 175-pound unrestricted free agent spent his first seven NFL seasons with the Buffalo Bills, averaging 12.0 yards per return on 135 returns with three touchdowns. Parrish's average (since 2005) ranks second in the NFL behind only Chicago's Devin Hester (12.9)
The former University of Miami star by way of Miami Senior High School had 134 career catches for 1,502 yards and seven touchdowns during his seven seasons with the Bills. He also had 29 kickoff returns for 685 yards (23.6 avg). Parrish and strong safety Atari Bigby, whom the Chargers recently signed from Seattle, were high school teammates at Miami Senior.
Parrish becomes the 12th unrestricted free agent signed by the Chargers since free agency opened. He joins Bigby, DT Antonio Garay, T Jared Gaither, OLB Jarrett Johnson, FB Le'Ron McClain, WR Robert Meachem, WR-KR Eddie Royal, TEs Randy McMichael, Kory Sperry and Dante Rosario, and QB Charlie Whitehurst. The list does not include C Nick Hardwick and LB Demorrio Williams, who both signed before free agency began.
