Cavs' Waiters probable for Celtics
Cavaliers guard Dion Waiters returned to practice Thursday and is probable for Friday's game at Boston, coach David Blatt said.
"Dion went through the whole practice and he looked fairly good," Blatt said.
Waiters suffered a lower back contusion during last weekend's win at Denver. The injury forced him to sit out Monday's win over New Orleans, as well as Wednesday's practice.
"He's probable (for Friday)," Blatt said. "We'll see how his body responds after the work he did today. We're hoping he can get out there and play."
Waiters is averaging a career-low 9.4 points and shooting just 35 percent from the floor in his third season. He started the first three games before coming off the bench in his previous two.
Friday's game marks the first meeting of the season between the Cavs (3-3) and Celtics (3-4). Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on FOX Sports Ohio. Coverage begins with Cavaliers Live Pregame at 7 p.m.
