Cavs' Blatt: LeBron knee issue not serious

Cavaliers coach David Blatt said LeBron James' sore left knee is not serious and that James was held out of Thursday's game at Oklahoma City merely as a precaution.

James skipped shootaround Thursday morning after experiencing soreness behind his knee. The Cavs announced he would be held out against the Thunder about an hour before tipoff.

"I really don't believe we have any kind of serious situation on our hands, just some soreness," Blatt told reporters in Oklahoma City. "He got up this morning and didn't feel particularly good so we decided to hold him out."

James is listed as questionable or "50-50" for the Cavs' game Friday at New Orleans. He leads the Cavs in scoring at 24.8 points per game, as well as assists, at 7.7 points per game. He is also grabbing 5.5 rebounds.

The Cavs had won eight straight heading into Thursday, with James scoring 35 in Tuesday's come-from-behind victory over Toronto.

"He's not the easiest guy to replace, as you can well imagine," Blatt said before the Cavs-Thunder game.
