Cavaliers rookie Irving close to returning
Guard Kyrie Irving wants to get back on the court. He's missed the last 10 games with the injury.
Cavs coach Byron Scott said Irving probably won't face the Pistons on Tuesday. He said there's a better chance of Irving playing against Philadelphia on Wednesday at Quicken Loans Arena.
When the season ends on April 26 at Chicago, Scott will sit down with all the players and go through evaluations on how they can improve and things to work on in the summer. He'll bring in a few players at Cleveland Clinic Courts -- Irving and forward-center Tristan Thompson, among others -- and have actual court work with them.
"We don't want that time to be rehab time," Scott said. "Hopefully, we want him on the court working on some of things for next season."
Irving is scheduled to play for the Cavs' summer-league team in Las Vegas.
The Cavaliers were drilled by the Dwight Howard-less Magic 100-84 on Sunday.
