NEW YORK (AP) Catron overcame rivals in the stretch and rallied up the fence Thursday to win the $85,000 allowance feature at Belmont Park.

The 5-year-old, making his season debut for trainer Todd Pletcher, needed room turning for home after a rail-hugging trip. When an opening materialized, Catron shot through the opening for his second straight win, and fourth in six races overall.

Javier Castellano was aboard for the six furlongs in 1:09.45.

Catron paid $8.70, $4.90 and $3.30.

Scarly Charly was a game second, returning $11.40 and $7.50. He pressed 1-2 favorite Bakken for the early lead and was still battling in the stretch, beaten only by 1 1/4 lengths.

Loki's Vengeance paid $4.80 to show.

Bakken faded to last in the six-horse field.
