Carrie Underwood tears up at ACM Honors event
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Carrie Underwood, who recently announced she is pregnant, got emotional during an acceptance speech at the annual ACM Honors event after thanking family and friends.
Underwood, 31, received the Gene Weed Special Achievement Award on Tuesday night in Nashville, Tennessee. When she accepted the award, she said that she was misty eyed at the performances that evening.
''Thank you to my family and my husband tonight, very supportive and wonderful to me,'' Underwood said before the tears began. ''I have the best team in the universe. And I feel like I don't get enough chances to thank them publicly.''
''What is wrong with me?'' she said after sniffling her way through the speech.
Underwood and her husband, NHL player Mike Fisher, are expecting their first child next spring.
