ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Two players were added to the Cardinals' roster Sunday -- outfielder Adron Chambers and backup catcher Tony Cruz.
Chambers, 26, was recalled from Memphis. The left-handed hitter -- who has been featured on the Cardinals' postseason roster for the past two seasons -- has appeared in 11 games for St. Louis so far this season, batting .167 with one RBI. In Memphis, Chambers was batting .252 with eight home runs, 43 RBIs and 16 stolen bases.
Cruz, 27, had appeared in 40 games this season before going on the 15-day disabled list on Aug. 15. He was batting .212 with one home run and 11 RBIs, and is 9 for 24 with runners in scoring position.
