ST. LOUIS -- Oscar Taveras' time in St. Louis is over. At least for now, of course.

The Cardinals activated first baseman Matt Adams from the 15-day disabled list on Friday, sending Taveras back down to Triple-A Memphis.

Taveras hit .189 in 11 games for the Cardinals with one homer and two RBI.

Adams spent four games in Memphis this past week on a rehab assignment, going 3 for 15 with two RBI. Despite missing the last 13 games, Adams still sits fifth in the National League with his team-leading .325 batting average and is tied for the team lead with 16 doubles.
