Canada's Ted-Jan Bloemen breaks 10,000 record

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) Canada's Ted-Jan Bloemen shattered the world record in the 10,000 meters Saturday in the World Cup speedskating event at the Utah Olympic Oval, finishing in 12 minutes, 36.30 seconds.
Bloemen broke the mark of 12:41.69 set by Sven Kramer of the Netherlands last week in Calgary, Alberta. Kramer was set to skate later Saturday.
On Friday, Russia's Pavel Kulizhnikov broke the 500 record with a time of 33.98.
