TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- Chris Young doubled home a run before leaving with a leg cramp in the Oakland Athletics' 7-5 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday.
Seth Smith had two RBIs and Coco Crisp added a pair of hits for Oakland. Young doubled and scored in the first inning but was removed for precautionary reasons with a quadriceps cramp.
Young, acquired from the Diamondbacks during the offseason, is expected to play all over the outfield this season because the A's already have three regulars in Yoenis Cespedes, Coco Crisp and Josh Reddick.
Oakland left-hander Travis Blackley allowed three hits in a scoreless inning.
Angels starter Barry Enright managed only two outs. He gave up three runs and four hits in the first inning.
DODGERS 2, WHITE SOX 2 (9 INNINGS)
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Zack Greinke pitched two strong innings in his Dodgers debut and Los Angeles tied the Chicago White Sox 2-2 in a Cactus League game that was called after nine innings.
Pitching for the first time since he signed a $147 million, six-year contract to join the free-spending Dodgers in the offseason, Greinke retired six of his seven batters. He struck out leadoff man Dewayne Wise and third-place hitter Alex Rios in the first inning.
Greinke gave up one hit, a single up the middle by Jeff Keppinger.
White Sox slugger Adam Dunn hit an opposite-field, two-run homer to left against Peter Moylan.
Hanley Ramirez had an RBI single and Luis Cruz homered for the Dodgers.
INDIANS 3, REDS 0
GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) -- Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched two scoreless innings in blustery conditions and seven Cleveland pitchers combined on a one-hitter, leading an Indians split squad to a 3-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday.
Matsuzaka was limited to just 11 starts last season for Boston after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2011. He's trying to win a spot in Cleveland's rotation this spring.
The Japanese right-hander hit Cincinnati's Ryan Hanigan with his first pitch, but got a double-play grounder on his second and settled in. Matsuzaka says he feels better now than at any time last season, when he went 1-7 with 8.28 ERA for the Red Sox.
Jason Donald singled in the sixth for Cincinnati's only hit.
Omir Santos hit a two-run double, and Carlos Moncrief singled in a run for Cleveland.
CUBS 4, GIANTS 3
MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- Jeff Samardzija made a strong spring debut and the Chicago Cubs scored four unearned runs in the first inning against San Francisco Giants ace Matt Cain, then held on for a 4-3 victory Sunday at HoHoKam Stadium.
Cubs catcher Dioner Navarro acquired as a free agent over the winter, hit a three-run homer in the first inning after Alfonso Soriano hit a line drive off the right leg of Cain and reached first as the ball caromed away. Giants first baseman Brandon Belt made a throwing error one batter earlier.
"It should be fine," said Cain, who has been tabbed by manager Bruce Bochy to make his first career Opening Day start for the defending World Series champions. "Just some ice now. Nothing to worry about, I don't think.
"Maybe I've just got to start using my glove more -- or actually using my glove."
MARINERS 8, PADRES 3
PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) -- Raul Ibanez hit a three-run homer off former teammate Freddy Garcia to spark a five-run first-inning and lead the Seattle Mariners to an 8-3 win over the San Diego Padres on Sunday.
Garcia and Ibanez were twice teammates in Seattle and played together last season for the New York Yankees.
Ibanez, who will turn 41 this season, sent a sinker over the right field wall for his first homer of the spring.
Mike Morse and Michael Saunders followed Ibanez with back-to-back doubles before Garcia recorded his first out, a strikeout of Jesus Montero. The 36-year-old Garcia allowed five hits and four earned runs in his only inning.
Robert Andino and Kyle Seager each went 2 for 3 with a run scored for the Mariners.
Starter Erasmo Ramirez got the win with one inning of work for Seattle, which used nine pitchers to hold the Padres to nine hits.
INDIANS 7, BREWERS 4
PHOENIX (AP) -- Carlos Santana and Ezequiel Carrera homered to help a Cleveland Indians split squad beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-4 on Sunday.
Mike Aviles and Cord Phelps added RBI singles for the Indians. Carlos Carrasco, who missed last season following Tommy John surgery, started and allowed four runs -- three earned -- on four hits and a walk in one inning.
Scott Kazmir and Trevor Bauer, also competing for spots at the back end of Cleveland's rotation, each pitched two scoreless innings.
Mark Rogers gave up two runs, two hits and three walks for the Brewers.
Santana tied the score at 4 in the third inning with his first home run. Carrera added a solo shot in the sixth.
RANGERS 7, ROYALS 5
SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) -- Matt Harrison gave up four runs before being lifted in the first inning of the Texas Rangers' 7-5 loss to the Kansas City Royals on Sunday.
An 18-game winner last year, Harrison threw 40 pitches as the Royals batted around. He allowed six hits, including Alcides Escobar's RBI triple.
Royals starter Luis Mendoza, the Caribbean Series MVP, allowed one run on four hits in four innings.
The Rangers tied the score at 5 on Leury Garcia's two-run homer in the sixth inning.
Xavier Nady and Brett Hayes stroked RBI singles in the eighth and ninth innings to put the Royals on top.
Salvador Perez went 3 for 3 with a double and scored a pair of runs for the Royals.
