The Tigers got the news they were expecting and hoping for on Miguel Cabrera Wednesday.
On Oct. 24, Dr. Robert Anderson performed surgery on Cabrera's right ankle to remove bone spurs and to repair a stress fracture in the navicular bone.
Cabrera underwent a CT scan in Miami Tuesday and Dr. Anderson said it showed a good progression of healing.
That means Cabrera is now cleared to begin non-impact baseball activities like hitting and throwing.

Cabrera will also be able to start a running progression until he is able to withstand full weight-bearing activities.
According to the Tigers, although there is no precise timetable for Cabrera, they are optimistic he could be ready for Opening Day April 6 against the Minnesota Twins.
