Buttler, Jordan shine as England advances to WT20 semifinals

NEW DELHI (AP) Jos Buttler smashed an unbeaten 66 and Chris Jordan took 4-28 as England held on for a thrilling 10-run victory to eliminate defending champion Sri Lanka and advance to the World Twenty20 semifinals on Saturday.

Buttler built on 42 from opener Jason Roy as England reached 171-4 after being put into bat, scoring 72 off the last five overs.

Captain Angelo Mathews struck an unbeaten 73 to scare England as Sri Lanka finished on 161-8.

Sri Lanka punished England spinners Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid for 63 runs in four overs in a spirited fightback after being reduced to 15-4 at one stage.

Ben Stokes, who hit a six off his only ball, bowled the last over for four runs with Sri Lanka needing 15 to win.
