Budenholzer to contest DUI

Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer was stopped by the Georgia State Patrol late Wednesday and arrested on charges of driving under the influence.

Budenholzer, a longtime assistant with the San Antonio Spurs, is entering his first season as a head coach. He was the first coaching hire made by second-year Hawks general manager Danny Ferry, formerly GM of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"Bud made us aware of the situation last night," Ferry said in a statement. "We are in the process of gathering more information and will have further comment at the appropriate time.”
