Bucks send Delfino, Raduljica to Clippers for Dudley, draft pick
The Milwaukee Bucks have traded small forward Carlos Delfino and center Miroslav Raduljica to the Los Angeles Clippers for small forward Jared Dudley and a future first-round pick.
In the deal first reported by Yahoo Sports/FOX Sports 1 NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Clippers will send a protected 2017 first-round pick to the Bucks. Milwaukee will in return ship Los Angeles' 2015 second-round pick back to the Clippers.
Dudley is owed $4.25 million for next season and has a player option for $4.25 million for the 2015-16 season. The 29-year-old averaged 6.9 points and 2.2 rebounds while shooting 36 percent from beyond the arc last season, his first with the Clippers.
Signed last summer, Delfino never played in a game during his second stint with the Bucks. A fractured foot suffered in the playoffs during the 2012-13 season with the Rockets never properly healed and eventually required season-ending surgery.
Delfino has two years and $6.5 million remaining on his contract, with the final year being a team option. According to Wojnarowski, Delfino is likely to miss part of this upcoming season as well.
In his first season in the NBA, Raduljica played sparingly with the Bucks, averaging 3.8 points and 2.3 rebounds over 9.7 minutes per game. The 26-year-old signed a two-year, $3 million deal with Milwaukee with a non-guaranteed third year.
With cap room to spare for the upcoming season, the Bucks essentially added the difference in salary between the contracts of Dudley and Delfino and received a future asset of a first-round pick in return for doing so.
A first-round pick out of Boston College in 2007, Dudley averaged 5.7 points per game in a season and a half with Charlotte before being traded to Phoenix with Jason Richardson in December of 2008. Dudley became a valuable role player for the Suns, averaging 9.8 points and hitting 41.2 percent of his 3-point attempts in 356 games in Phoenix.
Dudley averaged a career-high 12.7 points per game in 2011-12 and scored 10.9 per game the following season before heading to the Clippers in the J.J. Redick sign-and-trade that sent Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler to the Suns and future second-round picks to the Bucks.
