Buckeyes remain No. 6 in College Football Playoff rankings
Ohio State stayed at No. 6 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday night.
The top seven remained the same from last week's rankings. The top four will make the first -ever College Football Playoff.
A rough first half vs. Indiana didn't end up dropping the 10-1 Buckeyes, though the only rankings that really matter come after conference championship games are played on Dec. 6. Ohio State is in the Big Ten Championship Game and will play the winner of No. 14 Wisconsin-No. 18 Minnesota in Indianapolis.
Wisconsin hosts Minnesota Saturday, the same day Ohio State hosts Michigan.
No change above the Buckeyes in this week rankings mean the Buckeyes and their fans will be watching closely when No. 5 TCU plays at Texas Thursday night. Saturday, No. 1 Alabama plays No. 15 Auburn, No. 2 Oregon plays at Oregon State, No. 3 Florida State plays at Florida and No. 4 Mississippi State plays at No. 19 Ole Miss.
So, a lot remains unsettled.
Wisconsin moved up two spots this week. Michigan State, which lost to Ohio State earlier this month, moved up to No. 10. Minnesota, which also lost to Ohio State this month, moved up from No. 25 to No. 18 after beating Nebraska.
All of the top seven have one loss except Florida State.
One game of note for Ohio State is Friday, when Missouri hosts Arkansas. A Missouri win puts the Tigers in the SEC Championship Game. An Arkansas win puts No. 9 Georgia in the SEC Championship Game and presents the opportunity for the two-loss Bulldogs to win the SEC and make things really difficult on the playoff committee.
